I love the long, quiet stretches between destinations on a road trip. It gives me time to think, reflect, and when something catches my eye, take a detour.
My first car was a sun-faded burgundy Nissan 240SX. It was reliable, but as soon as I got it home, I started taking it apart. With help from friends, YouTube, and youthful overconfidence, I swapped the engine, transmission, and suspension. That process taught me how cars work. If anything ever broke, I felt like I could fix it.
Having my own car meant freedom. Exploring new places became as easy as packing a bag and hitting the road. Weekend trips turned into weeks, weeks into months. The vehicles have changed, but the desire to see what's past the horizon has never faded.
This site attempts to capture my experience navigating the Pan-American Highway.
